The TAG Heuer Monaco Gulf Calibre 12 Chronograph Ref. CAW2113.FC6250 is a highly distinctive and collectible interpretation of one of the most iconic chronographs in motorsport history. Introduced in 2009 as a limited edition of 2,500 pieces, it combines the legendary square Monaco case with the instantly recognisable racing colours of Gulf.
The 39mm stainless-steel case retains the bold square profile that has defined the Monaco since its introduction. Its combination of brushed and polished surfaces gives the watch a strong architectural presence, while the sapphire crystal and exhibition caseback add a contemporary finish to the unmistakably retro design.
The metallic grey dial is the defining feature of this special edition. The famous Gulf blue and orange racing stripes run vertically across the dial, accompanied by the vintage Gulf logo at 6 o’clock. Twin chronograph registers provide the classic bi-compax appearance, with small seconds positioned at 3 o’clock, the 30-minute chronograph counter at 9 o’clock and the date display at 6 o’clock.
At its heart is the TAG Heuer Calibre 12, a self-winding mechanical chronograph movement. The automatic movement can be viewed through the sapphire exhibition caseback, adding further mechanical interest to a watch already strongly associated with TAG Heuer’s racing heritage.
This example is presented on a grey leather strap, which complements the metallic grey dial beautifully while allowing the blue and orange Gulf colours to remain the visual focus of the watch.
