The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 6000M Ultra Deep Ref. 215.92.46.21.01.001 represents the extreme end of Omega’s professional diving-watch engineering. Developed from the technology behind Omega’s experimental Ultra Deep watches that descended to the deepest reaches of the ocean, this production model combines extraordinary technical capability with the unmistakable design language of the Planet Ocean collection.
The imposing 45.5mm case is crafted from lightweight Grade 5 titanium, an important consideration given the substantial proportions and extreme pressure resistance of the watch. Its distinctive case construction incorporates Omega’s prominent “Manta Lugs”, inspired by the original Ultra Deep prototype watches used during the Five Deeps Expedition.
The black dial has a purposeful, highly legible design, with oversized hands and hour markers treated with Super-LumiNova for excellent visibility in low-light conditions. A black ceramic unidirectional diving bezel surrounds the dial, reinforcing the professional instrument character of the watch while providing the functionality expected from an extreme-depth dive watch.
At its heart is the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8912, a self-winding movement offering approximately 60 hours of power reserve. METAS certified, the movement provides exceptional precision, performance and resistance to magnetic fields, making it ideally suited to the demanding engineering philosophy behind the Ultra Deep.
The watch is fitted to a robust NATO-style strap, which complements the titanium construction and gives the Ultra Deep an authentic expedition-inspired appearance. Despite its extraordinary depth rating, the watch has been engineered as a fully wearable production timepiece rather than simply a technical demonstration.
Water resistant to an extraordinary 6,000 metres (20,000 feet), the Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep is also tested in accordance with the ISO 6425 standard for saturation divers’ watches. The result is one of the most technically capable mechanical dive watches Omega has ever produced.
