The watch is housed in the iconic 44mm stainless-steel Luminor 1950 case, distinguished by its strong cushion-shaped profile and Panerai’s signature crown-protecting bridge. The combination of polished and brushed surfaces gives the case a purposeful yet refined appearance, while retaining the bold wrist presence that has made the Luminor such a recognisable design.
Its black sandwich dial is pure Panerai, featuring the characteristic oversized Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock, baton hour markers and a small-seconds display at 9 o’clock. The layered sandwich construction provides excellent depth and legibility, while a discreet date aperture at 3 o’clock adds everyday practicality without detracting from the clean, functional aesthetic.
At its heart is Panerai’s in-house Calibre P.9000, a self-winding mechanical movement equipped with two spring barrels and offering approximately 72 hours, or three days, of power reserve. The movement can be viewed through the sapphire crystal exhibition caseback and represents an important generation of Panerai’s manufacture movements.
