The Tudor Black Bay Heritage P01 is a striking 42mm stainless steel watch, drawing inspiration from a 1960s prototype originally proposed to the US Navy, known as the “Commando.” This model, designated 70150, features a satin-brushed steel case that embodies both durability and elegance. One of its standout features is the unique locking bezel system, characterized by a 60-notch, 12-hour graduated bidirectional rotating bezel. This bezel is innovative in its design, incorporating a mobile end-link at 12 o’clock that allows the user to flip it up to unlock the bezel for rotation, while pushing it down secures it in place, ensuring functionality and safety during use.
The watch showcases a domed matte-black dial, which is complemented by painted luminescent “snowflake” hands and markers that enhance visibility in various lighting conditions. Additionally, a date aperture is conveniently located at the 3 o’clock position. The timepiece is protected by a sapphire crystal that offers clarity and scratch resistance.
