The Tudor Ranger Ref. M79950-0001 is a purpose-built field watch that combines Tudor’s historic expedition heritage with the reliability and performance of a modern manufacture timepiece. Its understated design draws inspiration from the rugged watches associated with exploration, resulting in a clean, highly functional watch designed for everyday wear.
Presented in a versatile 39mm stainless-steel case with an entirely satin-brushed finish, the Ranger has a purposeful, tool-watch character. The relatively slim bezel maximises the dial opening and gives the watch excellent presence on the wrist without the bulk associated with larger sports models.
The matte black dial is deliberately simple and highly legible, featuring distinctive painted Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock. Beige-toned luminous hour markers and hands introduce a subtle vintage influence, while the signature Ranger arrow-shaped hour hand gives the watch its immediately recognisable identity. The absence of a date window maintains the symmetry and functional simplicity of the dial.
At its heart is Tudor’s Manufacture Calibre MT5402, a COSC-certified self-winding mechanical movement renowned for its precision, robustness and reliability. It provides approximately 70 hours of power reserve, allowing the watch to be removed for an entire weekend and still be running when worn again.
This Ref. M79950-0001 is fitted to Tudor’s three-link stainless-steel bracelet with the brand’s T-fit rapid-adjustment clasp. The system allows the wearer to make small adjustments to the bracelet without tools, significantly improving comfort during everyday use.
