The Rolex Sea-Dweller Ref. 126600 is a formidable professional dive watch that sits above the Submariner in terms of depth capability and technical specification. Introduced to mark the 50th anniversary of the Sea-Dweller, this generation increased the case size to a substantial 43mm while retaining the rugged, functional character that has defined the collection since its origins in professional saturation diving.
The 43mm case is crafted from Oystersteel and features a black unidirectional rotating bezel fitted with a virtually scratch-resistant Cerachrom ceramic insert. The intense black dial provides exceptional legibility, with large Chromalight hour markers and hands producing a long-lasting blue luminescence in low-light conditions.
A particularly distinctive detail is the red “SEA-DWELLER” inscription on the dial, a deliberate reference to the highly collectible vintage Sea-Dweller models. The Ref. 126600 was also the first Sea-Dweller generation to feature Rolex’s signature Cyclops magnifying lens over the date aperture at 3 o’clock.
At its heart is the Rolex Manufacture Calibre 3235, a self-winding mechanical movement offering approximately 70 hours of power reserve. Superlative Chronometer certified, the movement combines exceptional precision, reliability and efficiency with Rolex’s Chronergy escapement, blue Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers.
Engineered as a genuine professional diving instrument, the Sea-Dweller is water resistant to an extraordinary 1,220 metres or 4,000 feet. An integrated helium escape valve allows accumulated helium to be safely released from the case during decompression following saturation diving.
The watch is fitted to Rolex’s robust three-piece Oyster bracelet with an Oysterlock safety clasp and Glidelock extension system, allowing precise bracelet adjustment without the use of tools.
