The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Calibre 16 Ref. CAZ2011.FT8024 is a bold, motorsport-inspired automatic chronograph that captures the strong connection between TAG Heuer and the world of Formula 1 racing. With its substantial 44mm proportions and all-black aesthetic, the watch has a purposeful, technical presence on the wrist.
The 44mm stainless-steel case is finished with a black PVD coating, creating a stealthy appearance while emphasising the muscular architecture of the Formula 1 case. A fixed black bezel incorporates a tachymeter scale, reinforcing the racing character of the watch and allowing speed to be calculated over a measured distance. The watch is water resistant to 200 metres.
Its black dial features a dashboard-inspired chronograph layout with three counters, applied hour markers and carefully placed red accents that provide a striking contrast against the monochromatic design. The chronograph records elapsed seconds, 30 minutes and 12 hours, while a date display adds useful everyday functionality.
At its heart is the TAG Heuer Calibre 16, a self-winding mechanical chronograph movement operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and providing approximately 48 hours of power reserve according to TAG Heuer’s specifications. The combination of an automatic movement and traditional mechanical chronograph functionality gives this Formula 1 considerably more horological character than the quartz models commonly associated with the collection.
The watch is fitted to a black perforated rubber strap, specifically designed to complement its racing-inspired character. The perforations echo the design of traditional motorsport equipment while providing a comfortable and appropriately sporting finish to the watch.
